This policy describes the exact local-only behaviour of version 1.0.0. The in-app Privacy Center carries the same meaning, date and contact route.
Abbeyfield Motueka Incorporated is the organization identified for this Android application. This policy covers Motueka Side by Side version 1.0.0 and is effective 8 August 2026. It does not cover Android, an app store, a device manufacturer or services contacted outside the app.
The app is an orientation resource for older adults considering independent shared living, their trusted supporters, visitors, volunteers and other adults learning about the household model. It is not designed for unsupervised use by children or for managing vulnerable-person records.
The app provides paired educational chapters, preset conversation prompts, a private preference reflection, a visit-preparation checklist, verified source notes, organization information and an in-app Privacy Center. It does not advertise vacancies, accept applications, determine suitability or report live household status.
The app has no networking feature and does not collect or transmit names, email addresses, phone numbers, messages, photos, identifiers, precise location, health information, financial information, contacts or files to Abbeyfield Motueka Incorporated or a developer-operated server.
The app can save fixed-choice preference categories, visit-preparation checks and the Reduce Motion setting in Android SharedPreferences on the device. These selections restore the local experience only. They are not an application, eligibility score, resident profile or care record.
The app has no free-text field and is not designed to hold medication details, diagnoses, care plans, disability records, incident reports, financial records, identity documents, youth records or confidential case notes. Users should not repurpose screenshots as a sensitive record system.
The release manifest requests no Internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, notification, Bluetooth, phone, SMS or storage permission. Android may add platform-managed internal components that do not grant this app access to personal data.
There is no registration, login or server account, so account deletion does not apply. Local choices can be removed with Clear local choices, by clearing app storage, or by uninstalling the app.
The app contains no advertisements, ad attribution, analytics, tracking pixels, telemetry, crash-reporting service, social SDK, remote configuration or third-party network library. It uses Android platform APIs and bundled static content only.
Because the app does not send app-entered data to Abbeyfield Motueka Incorporated or a developer-operated server, it has no app-collected personal data to sell, rent or disclose. Device and app-store providers may process their own operational data under their own terms.
Source web addresses, the house phone and postal address are displayed as text for transparency. The app does not open a browser, place a call, launch email, export content or share data. Communication initiated separately outside the app is governed by the recipient's practices.
Fixed-choice selections remain only in the app's private storage until the user clears them, clears app storage or uninstalls. Abbeyfield Motueka Incorporated receives no server copy from the app and therefore applies no server retention period to these selections.
Clear local choices removes stored preference and visit selections. Android cloud backup and device transfer are disabled for app data in this release. Uninstalling removes app-private data subject to the device platform's operation.
Local preferences are stored in the Android application sandbox and are not intentionally transmitted. No device can be guaranteed absolutely secure. Users should use a device lock, install operating-system updates and avoid creating screenshots containing sensitive information.
The app does not knowingly collect information from children and includes no chat, public profile, social feed, precise-location feature, direct messaging or adult-to-child interaction. Adults remain responsible for any accompanied family discussion involving a younger person.
The app is educational. It is not a care provider, emergency service, health monitor, diagnostic tool, medication manager, housing assessment, tenancy decision, legal service or substitute for qualified advice. Current health, safety, tenancy and support questions should be addressed with appropriate professionals and responsible organizations.
A future version that adds networking, accounts, forms, analytics, advertising or other data practices will require an updated policy and Play declarations before release. Users may read the app without saving optional selections and may enable Reduce Motion at any time.
